Podcast recap

Episode 5 of the podcast is a solo one. Johan is off this week, so Rich Summers takes the mic alone to walk through something the Lets Flo team has been refining for years: how to calculate exactly what studio chaos is costing a business, in real pounds and hours, not just in frustration.

Before diving in, Rich looks back at Episode 4, where Alison joined from New York to talk through scaling the Net-a-Porter studio from 30 people to over a hundred. Her core insight sets up everything that follows in Episode 5. Scale up a team or a production line without fixing the underlying problems first, and all you have done is scale up the problem.

Calculate your Studio Tax

Put a number on what chaos is costing your studio

The Studio Chaos Calculator takes about five minutes to work through, and the number it produces tends to stick.

The Studio Chaos Calculator is live now on the Lets Flo website. Once you have a number, you can request a full breakdown of where the time is going, and the Lets Flo team is happy to walk through the results with you directly.

Episode 5 sets the stage. A later episode in the series picks up where this one leaves off, looking at what it actually takes to close the gap and get a studio operating at its full potential.

"The problem is coordination, and every point where coordination breaks down adds another small cost."
